Introduction

The Skills Development Fund is managed by Country Arts SA on behalf of the South Australian Government through Arts South Australia, that supports arts and community cultural development projects, which benefit regionally based artists, arts workers and communities.

The general information and eligibility guidelines are to assist applicants in applying for support under the Skills Development Fund.  Please read them carefully before proceeding and discuss your application with your local Arts and Cultural Facilitator.

Applying for a Grant

Individual artists, community groups or organisations can apply for up to $3,000 to;

  • undertake opportunites for the development of skills through workshops run by professional artists.
  • support travel and accommodation costs incurred in delivering arts activities, workshops, conferences or seminars.
  • for the development of project ideas and concepts by supporting costs associated with the short term visit of an artist/s or guest speaker/s to assist in the development stage of a major arts project.

Arts and Cultural Facilitator

Country Arts SA's Arts and Cultural Facilitators collaborate with regional and remote communities, artists and organisations to assist the development of ideas into projects, support new initiatives that are by, for and with communities and keep communities informed of key arts opportunities.
 

The team of facilitators are based in pivotal locations throughout regional South Australia. It is strongly recommended that you discuss your proposal with an Arts and Cultural Facilitator before the closing date and prior to lodging your application. This will offer you the best chance of success from drawing on their vast knowledge and experience in this area.
